Birmingham City manager, Harry Redknapp, has admitted he is keen on signing Ogenyi Onazi from Trabzonspor.
Onazi could join the Championship side in a deal worth £4m.
Redknapp confirmed talks are well underway for the Super Eagles vice-captain, who threatened to terminate his contract with the Turkish club last month.
Speaking on the possible capture of the 24-year-old, Redknapp said: “Onazi is someone we’re chasing, we’re trying to get him, hopefully but let’s see.”
His agent Stephen Makinwa, was coy when OwnGoalNigeria asked him about the possible departure of his client.
He insisted that if a deal is done, it will be announced by the clubs involved in the transfer.
